형용사 Adjective

형용사란 명사를 수식하는(꾸며주는) 단어이다.
형용사는 명사 앞이나 뒤에서 수식을 해준다.

한정사
the      / two     / girls
한정사  / 한정사  / 명사

The two pretty girls   (관사)
My two little boys     (소유격)

The my little boys    <--  관사와 소유격은 함께 등장할 수 없어서 틀린 문장이다.

A my friend               <-- 틀린문장
A friend of mine     <-- 내친구 한명

일반 형용사

한정적 용법
This is an interesting book.

서술적 용법
the book is interesting.

한정적으로만 쓰이는 형용사
only, inner, outer, former, indoor, outdoor

This is my only son.
안에 입는 옷          - innerwear
겉옷                        - outerwear
속옷                        - underwear

서술적으로만 쓰이는 형용사
asleep, awake, alive , alike, afraid, well.

My dog is asleep   (상태)
My dog is sleeping

My father wakes up at 6 am.
My father is awake.

look alike                  (똑같이 생겼다)
twins                           (쌍둥이)
identical twins        (일란성 쌍둥이)

형용사의 순서 : 지시+수량+크기+모양+색깔+신구+재료

the    two   big   new  gold rings
지시  수량  크기  신구  재료 명사

big    blue  eyes
크기   색깔

long straight black hair
크기 모양    색깔

something     +    형용사 
anything
nothing
everything

something special 처럼 thing 로 끝나는 단어는 형용사가 뒤에온다.

The + 형용사  = ~한 사람들 이렇게 해석된다.  (관용구어 간단하게 쓰이는 경우)
